Choke

Zoh keeps getting choke ¬.¬ so I've resorted to double netting AND soaking his haylage and his pathetic amounts of pony nuts are now turned to mush which he doesn't appreciate!

Tonight however, I gave him his dinner w/o his haynet in the stable and poked and prodded him until he ate it which he finally did and he seemed to like the taste his new supplement added to it! It's got a fair amount of copper in it which is something I was suggested I get for him for the pink around his eyes. He splooshed and mulched his way through it then when he was done he got his hay net which he tucked into even though he was frustrated he couldn't get a lot out!

Tomorrow I want to see if I can get him to cooperate and pay attention long enough to do some clicker, or I might just walk him around the first field or walk him to the road because he still jumps 6ft when he sees a car lol

He's a hell of a lot calmer in the stable now and he lets me brush all down his legs, his face and even piss about with his fetlocks :D

I love my pony <3 x

Happy Birthday Zoh!

Zoh's two today :D

For his birthday he got....a pear. He doesn't like conventional fruits! I think he had a good day, he spent the marjority of it running around the field like a bleedin' lunatic though!

He was down the field and he heard us coming with Ellie and came barrelling up the field at about 90 miles an hour and set the others of and Trevor Stone was in his fields next door with his wolfhound puppy which has appeared out of nowhere and chased the horses across the field until it saw Ellie and ran away lol.

He met some traffic today in the pen by the road, he was fine until Jaffa started to be a pleb and race around -.-'

We also did a little bit of clicker but he was far more interested in chewing my fingers than listening to me lol

Hmm, I brushed his fetlocks today and he keeps overreaching so he's got several scabs from it which I need to keep an eye on!

His cute new rug!

Hehehehe, how cute does he look?! He was so so good to put it on and he walked out unconcerned even though it makes a funny noise lol

Loving the Monkey Boy!

Yaaaay ^.^

Yay, Zoh let me pick up his hind feet :D :D

Every time I've tried before he's jumped and moved away, which is to be expected, but we've been doing a lot of work with him and it's paid off! :D

Haha, he gave us an "aerial display" this morning when he got over excited going out to the field, he moved two steps away from me and catapaulted himself into the air like he was on a trampoline and his feet must've been level with my hips! I cannot wait to jump him.

We got him his first rug today :D It's chocolate brown with a red trim and he looks so so smart. I want to take a picture of him in itbefore he gets it grossly dirty!

Helen: Check this out!

Things we could do we couldn't do before!

- Put a headcollar on without having a hissy fit
- Have the leadrope draped over his neck
- Have the leadrope flicked over his neck so it curls under
- Have a surcingle on
- Have (Twiglet's) Newmarket on
- Have (Twiglet's) Newmarket on with a surcingle holding it on
- Pick up both front feet
- Brush him all over
- Brush the inside of his back legs
- Drape my arms over his back
- Clean wounds
- Put antiseptic on
- Play around with his tail
- Rub his face with a towel
- Brush his face
- Have my hand on his nose from the other side
- Have a leadrope on his belly
- Have a leadrope round his chest
- Back up when I ask him to in the stable
- Walk AROUND gates (You'd think that would be simple!)
- Come to the gate every night!
- Walk out to the field alone
- Far far less jumpy with strange noises

This might not seem like a lot or seem pretty basic but he's never had anything like this done before, he's doing SO well and he's only been here nearly two weeks! He's so cute <3

Doing well

Zoh's settled well and he's a lot calmer now, getting the hang of routines. In the morning I groom him and turn him out, then at night I groom him again, he gets his dinner and I lift both front feet. I need to work on sacking out his back legs but that'll come in time.

He's doing really well, simple things like stroking his muzzle and patting him are now okay and he met the broom for the first time :P

He's doing awesome and I hope to do some clicker with him later in the week :)

Arrival.

Zohan arrived here todaaaaaay! He's settled in his stable well (I recently checked on him en route home from work) and he was stood fast asleep ^.^

He's super super cute but waaaaay skittish. But that's an Arab for you lol.

He was calm enough to let me brush his legs today and tomorrow when he comes in I'm going to pick out his front feet.

He's so sweet, but a nibbler! It's all so exciting though ^.^ I can't wait to do some proper training with him.

Ignore my stupid face in the picture -.-'
